The Collective

Twenty places. One forest, held well.

Vanvaas is shared by twenty founding members, one acre each. The number is the point: small enough to stay quiet, large enough to care for the land properly.

What a founding member holds

An acre, a place, and a standing invitation.

One

One acre of Vanvaas

Your share is one acre of the twenty, held within the collective's structure. The information memorandum sets out exactly how.

Two

100 nights in a cottage

Six low-footprint, two-bedroom cottages sit in the forest cluster, built by Vanvaas to its design code. Each founding member has 100 nights guaranteed in a single cottage.

Three

180 floating nights

A further 180 nights float across the collective, and founding members can book them separately.

Four

The land, reported

Seasonal reports on the species register, the water and the soil, and a standing invitation to walk the land with the team.

The rules we keep

The forest comes first, in writing.

These commitments are fixed before the first member joins, so nobody has to renegotiate the forest later.

I

A small footprint. Built area is capped at 5% of the land, about one acre in all. Six two-bedroom cottages sit only within the designated cluster, and the other 95% stays forest in its true form.

II

Forest before views. No clearing for sightlines and no commercial monoculture.

III

Dark nights. Low, warm, shielded light only, so the sky and the nocturnal forest stay intact.

IV

Quiet. No amplified sound and no events that bring crowds to the land.

V

Wildlife left alone. No hunting, no feeding and no fencing across movement routes.

The path

Conversation first. Paperwork later.

Questions

The honest ones.

If your question is not here, ask it. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

Is this a real estate offer?

Vanvaas is a forest sanctuary first, and this website is not an offer of any kind. Terms are set out only in a written information memorandum, shared after a personal conversation.

What exactly do I hold?

One acre's share of Vanvaas within the collective's legal structure, with a defined place in the forest cluster. The information memorandum states the structure, rights and obligations precisely.

Who builds the cottages?

Vanvaas will build six low-footprint, two-bedroom cottages within the designated cluster, to its design code. Built area is capped at 5% of the land, about one acre in all, leaving 95% as forest in its true form. Footprint and design rules are fixed before anyone joins.

Who looks after Vanvaas?

The collective's management team stewards the land. They are responsible for the land, its people and its upkeep, supported by a resident caretaker team and visiting ecologists.

What does it cost?

Pricing and any ongoing charges are shared in the information memorandum, never on this website.

Can I sell or pass it on?

Transfer and exit terms are set out in the information memorandum, and we will walk you through them in person.

Are there legal limits on who can hold the land?

Rules for agricultural land differ by state and by buyer, including for non-resident Indians. The structure, and the legal opinion behind it, are explained in the information memorandum.

What return can I expect?

This website makes no promise of financial return, and nothing on it is financial advice. Please read the information memorandum and take your own advice.
