Forest bathing as a way of being in the forest: slow, sensory and unhurried, shaped by people who know this particular land.
Explore forest bathingOur belief
A view is something you look at. A forest is something you enter. Vanvaas is built around the second idea: a small, protected stretch of the Western Ghats where the work of the day is to walk slowly, sit still and pay attention.
Twenty founding members share the land, so it stays small, quiet and cared for. There is no resort here, no programme to keep up with and no signal to chase. Only the canopy, the water, and the people who look after them.

Twenty founding places, one acre each. Join the few who hold this forest for the long term, and help it become wilder every year.
The collectiveA day in the forest
Built light, guarded well
Solar power and harvested rain. A light footprint, and a quiet one: no generator hum, no glare at night.
A single gated entrance, a resident caretaker team and a wildlife-aware perimeter. You are met, never exposed.
A canopy being surveyed season by season: trees, ferns, orchids and fungi, recorded rather than collected.
Birds, mammals, amphibians and insects, noted in a living species register. Watched from a distance, never fed.
The founding twenty
Each founding member holds one acre of Vanvaas and a defined place within its low-footprint cluster of six two-bedroom cottages. Membership is by invitation, and conversation comes before paperwork.
